Who Knew? My son is talented!!

I've been really busy over the past two days, writing and recording a song with my oldest son Terron! Terron is 20(see pic on right) and even though I didn't birth him he is still mine:) Ok, so this is what happened my girlfriend Ariyan Johnson is collaborating with BET this summer to do a series. First of all I can't begin to tell you how phenomenal she is check out her website. Ariyan called me up a few weeks ago and asked me to give her some new music. She wants to choreograph a new piece to my music. As you know music and I go way back and we have a bitter sweet love hate relationship, that I'm still deeply in love with. She said to me, "Wanda, girl I need you to create that thing you used to do, I need you on this!" I sighed in despair because I felt like I had nothing to give.
First of all the music she needs has to be Christ centered but, not traditional gospel. I love the Lord but, I was like OMG what am I going to write about! Not wanting to be defeated (plus she's been calling me like everyday) I called on my NY/NJ producer friends and asked for tracks. I didn't give them details, I just asked for simplicity and anything that they may have laying around on their shelves. The first 6 came in this past Monday. I was numb, I didn't hear or feel anything, I prayed but, sometimes the answer is never immediate:( Then here comes Terron and he excitedly says, "Wow you got tracks let me here them!" If only I was 20 again...... Well, I played them, he loved them and then pushed me to come up with something! I was petrified!!!
Suddenly as I was listening to one of the tracks playing he says to my daughter quietly, "Thank God you don't Cry anymore." That was it!!! That was the spark that slapped me in my face and I started to sing that into a melody and the hook was born! Then on top of that and this is like a bonus, he comes walking over with his Mac and says, "Lets record it!" Again, I was like OMG! We set up our mini studio and we recorded all over the house, where ever the noise was reduced most! I started to worry because I had nothing in my head for a verse. Again, here he comes out of no where in minutes he writes the verses, the bridge and the melodies for both!!! I felt like I had gone to bed, woke up and discovered pot of gold. My God this man I've known his entire life is a diamond:)
Today we finished our rough and I sent it via e-mail (Thank God for computers) to NY and my friend that produced the track absolutely loved it! I'm so excited at how amazing God is in my life!

I am losing a whole lot of stuff in my life but, I have gained so much more!

it's funny, when God moves in my life like this, I am always soooo amazed!!!! But when I hear/read of how He has moved in other peoples lives, I smile and say..."That's the God I serve." Stay encouraged and...on track!
