All is Well!

This year has been shall I just simply say, less than easy.  I asked myself today didn't 2010 just get started?  On top of just trying to survive and live through excruciating tragedies, there seems to be a mysterious plague rumaging through our home.  One by one things have mysteriously just conked out on us as soon as we moved to our new home, hmmmm (please see list)
1.  Dishwasher stopped pumping out water
2.  Oven wont get hot
3.  Water heater blew out, water went everywhere
4.   Septic backed up, lot's of nastiness outside
5.   Drain fields flooded, which causes flooding in house

Now, since it is what it is, I decided to just except the menace in my home and work around it like our ancsestors did before they invented modern conviences (please see my current remedy list and that photo on right is how I feel:)
1.  Wash dishes by hand
2.  Cook on top of stove
3.  Boil water on cook top
4.  Since septic backed up outside, I think of it like an out house:)
5.  Water in basement, just pick up all boxes and put on stilts

There all is well.

I've had to boil water for washing (bodies, clothes, dishes, whatever) more than once and it's no fun. Glad to see you're a tough, problem-solving woman rather than a frail, I-need-a-man-to-fix it kinda gal. Probably plays a big part in why I follow you.

Sorry about all the breakages, those suck.

My goodness! That's an awful lot of bad luck. A good streak has to be coming soon!!

Ew, sewer problems are NOT FUN. I had that in my previous house. What a disaster. You have my sympathies for all of the home troubles!

Can I add to your list?
1. My garage door opener bit the dust and I had to get a new one.
2. The catalytic converter went out on the van to the tune of $900 + labor.
3. I backed out of the garage with the back door open on the Toyota—long story involving the girl child—and the dealership says it has to go to the body shop…$$cha-ching$$
4. The kitchen faucet split at the top and now when I turn on the water, it shoots up to the ceiling like Old Faithful!
5. The shower in the master bath is dripping water into the basement.
6. The ice maker went belly-up a couple of weeks ago.
7. The power supply blew up on the family computer.
8. Both my Toyota and my Honda were involved in the most recent recalls…

I could go on, but the list just gets “more stoopider” and “more ‘spensive” as I continue…

I feel ya, Ma! Clearly, you get that we get to choose how we view the circumstances in our lives. That can be a tough sell for all of us (myself included!) sometimes, but we seldom end up feeling worse when we choose the perspective that feels healthier than simply complaining.

Because after all, it's not the end of the world, right. We are strong women and we've probably been dealt a lot worse than this. We are survivors, no matter how hard it may seem, it's when we come out on top when we say, whew, and now for a glass of lemonade.

Girrrrl, I always tell myself to just rock with it and roll with it. EVERYDAY is a surprise, but thank GOD for Jesus! Whew! Been thinking about you a lot lately and lifting you in prayer; now I know why. LOL!
