He hugged me too much!

I just had to write this story:) My son is playing on the Allstar team and we are responsible for getting sponsors. Now, this is tough. Nobody wants to part with any cash that they really don't have right? Well, sales was my background along time ago so, I don't mind asking (begging) for sponsorship. On Friday I decided to get all dolled up, I tell Jordeyn to put his uniform on and we go out with our sponsor forms ready to hustle!
Our first stop, my favorite Mexican Restaurant, also, I know the manager Norman, he used to work part time at my childrens school. We walk in, my hair is all out, my face is painted, I'm wearing a beautiful blouse with a very subtle but, tasteful plunge to my neckline and we ask for Norman. Mind you Norman has only ever seen me at school and I usually got my mommy disheveled look going on! Well, he walks over looks me up and down and says, "Wow, you look great, then he hugs me!" OK, so I didn't even know we were on hugging terms but, I go along with the slight molestation because I've got to get a D___n Sponsor!!! So, I go into my pitch and he is talking about baseball to me and Jordeyn and then out of nowhere he hugs me again and says, "You look so good, WOW!" Again, I smile and I steer him back to baseball sponsorship. Excitedly he says, "Usually each year we do one team out of 10, however since I know you I'm going to push this with the owner!" So, I said, "That's wonderful please do!" Then he grabs me again and gives me a goodbye hug! I'm like, yikes I think this guy is feeling me up, these were not church hugs, it was chest pressing upon chest!!!! Then on top of everything else he gives me a kiss on my cheek!
As, Jordeyn and I happily leave the restaurant, my 11 year old son says, "Mom I think Mr. Norman likes you a lot, because he hugged you like 3 times and kissed you!" I tried to down play it a little, I think I said something like, "Oh, he was just happy to see us babe." Jordeyn wasn't buying that as I caught his little eyebrow raise. I'm sure he was thinking about calling DAD!

How about you guys, what do you do when some one hugs you too much?

Who Knew? My son is talented!!

I've been really busy over the past two days, writing and recording a song with my oldest son Terron! Terron is 20(see pic on right) and even though I didn't birth him he is still mine:) Ok, so this is what happened my girlfriend Ariyan Johnson is collaborating with BET this summer to do a series. First of all I can't begin to tell you how phenomenal she is check out her website. Ariyan called me up a few weeks ago and asked me to give her some new music. She wants to choreograph a new piece to my music. As you know music and I go way back and we have a bitter sweet love hate relationship, that I'm still deeply in love with. She said to me, "Wanda, girl I need you to create that thing you used to do, I need you on this!" I sighed in despair because I felt like I had nothing to give.
First of all the music she needs has to be Christ centered but, not traditional gospel. I love the Lord but, I was like OMG what am I going to write about! Not wanting to be defeated (plus she's been calling me like everyday) I called on my NY/NJ producer friends and asked for tracks. I didn't give them details, I just asked for simplicity and anything that they may have laying around on their shelves. The first 6 came in this past Monday. I was numb, I didn't hear or feel anything, I prayed but, sometimes the answer is never immediate:( Then here comes Terron and he excitedly says, "Wow you got tracks let me here them!" If only I was 20 again...... Well, I played them, he loved them and then pushed me to come up with something! I was petrified!!!
Suddenly as I was listening to one of the tracks playing he says to my daughter quietly, "Thank God you don't Cry anymore." That was it!!! That was the spark that slapped me in my face and I started to sing that into a melody and the hook was born! Then on top of that and this is like a bonus, he comes walking over with his Mac and says, "Lets record it!" Again, I was like OMG! We set up our mini studio and we recorded all over the house, where ever the noise was reduced most! I started to worry because I had nothing in my head for a verse. Again, here he comes out of no where in minutes he writes the verses, the bridge and the melodies for both!!! I felt like I had gone to bed, woke up and discovered pot of gold. My God this man I've known his entire life is a diamond:)
Today we finished our rough and I sent it via e-mail (Thank God for computers) to NY and my friend that produced the track absolutely loved it! I'm so excited at how amazing God is in my life!

I am losing a whole lot of stuff in my life but, I have gained so much more!

Story #1 Princess and the Pee?

Happy Monday:) Ok, so much has happened over the past week or so, I decided to post a series of short stories about all of my encounters and experiences:

Story #1 Princess and the Pee?
About 2 weeks ago I got peed on by this cute little 3 year old kid, 3rd from your right, see her? Let me explain. You see I'm a Dance Mom, now what that means is I have a daughter who competes in dance competitions, it's a wonderful opportunity and my daughter is very blessed to be apart of The Dance Factory! I will do a post on The Dance Factory very soon:) Anyhew, as a dance mom we volunteer each year to help out at our annual dance recital. This show is for all of the recreational kids (kids that do not compete) and for the little ones (potty trained no pullups) to perform for the first time on stage! This year I was given the 3 year old group and I was ready with open arms for this challenge. Until, I realized that it only takes 1 or 2 of these little ones to make you wanna have a cocktail early:)

Egypt, this lovely little apple, angrily peed on me while I was trying to sing "I'm a little Tea Pot!" She was crying for Nanna and I felt bad so, I did a no no, I picked her up sat her on my lap and started singing. She kept screaming and I kept rocking and then my lap got hot and wet! In shock I pulled her away from me and gasped, she looked at me horrified and screamed! I tried to change the utter shock, pressed against my face but, it was to late Egypt wailed! However, I'm a dance mom, I picked her up, stepped over the pea puddle and with the help of some other professional dance moms we cleaned her up. That day I was officially christened a Dance Mom for life!!! Here is Miss. Egypt cleaned up and smiling:)

Todays Little Rascal!

I posted Cameron today because I thought this video was a classic. He reminds me so much of Alfalfa! I think his oldest brother Terron has a talent for film production. I was going to write something today but, this video beat me:)
