H1N1 and me:)

I love to blog and I love to write stories with that said I usually try to come up with things that have happened in the past week or two or three and write about it!!! This keeps me from becoming too addictive to this site, because if I did, you would definitely see me on "A&E's Intervention with my family talking to Jeff VanVonderen about why I can't get anything done and need to go to blogger rehab!"

Since, my last post I thought I would try and write something once a week and check in on my favorite bloggers like momsweb, momsfightingfat, jennymac, unknown mami, askwifey, etc., I love so many more I just can't name them all and I love to leave comments:)
But, as life would have it I got sick! From something called H1N1 do you know what that is? It's sounds like some sort of metalized acrylic, sprayed through the air and if your caught in it you might turn green or something right?
Guess what for those that don't know it's the SWINE FLU!!!!
Now I've heard of that but, I didn't know the technical term for it was H1N1 (where do they get these names?) OK, so maybe I missed that somewhere on the news? All I know is the school system sent a very cleverly written notice home explaining all about H1N1, they never even spoke Swine until like almost half way through the letter. I'm sure it's strategic, probably banking on the fact that people may not read the whole letter. Well, you know I did and they said H1N1 like 8 times before they mentioned Swine (clever, keep the panic down)! I got this H1N1 or at least some variation of it from my middle schooler. There were over 36 kids and some teachers out sick for the past 2 weeks. It's funny because until I got that letter from the school, I never even would have thought Swine Flu?

Currently, I'm still carrying the thing in my ear and throat! As a mom there is no feeling sorry for myself (no violins nothing) it's popping pills and moving on! So, by last Thursday I was itching to get out of the house and decided to take hubby to work so I could keep my car for the day to catch up on things that my family needed. As I was driving down my favorite Bolton Rd hacking and hicking and fussing about all the stuff I was behind on. I was frustrated and angry that I got sick, that we have one car, money is tight, on and on and on, oh poor me right? Then all of a sudden I was stricken by an interesting visual, I saw 2 women working extremely hard in their six inch stilettos clicking along the pavement at 8 in the morning! I stopped, I had to grab my camera and shoot these pictures so that I could put my life into perspective. We have a car, a roof over head, food, work, kids are healthy and active and for the most part hubby and I are in our right minds:)
I wasn't leaving a motel by the airport at 8am in the morning to go to work on Bolton Rd!

I stopped and gave Thanks for all that I am blessed to have:)

Well, how about you are you sick with H1N1 (Swine Flu) or just Happy and Grateful for all that you have?

Happy and Grateful for all that I have ... and running from H1N1/swine flue as much as possible. It is everywhere in this part of the state. Everyday someone else gets it. No the sesonal allergy/sinus mess has hit, but doesn't feel like I was hit by a freight train like you probably feel! Speedy recovery wishes!

Oh man, I am so sorry to hear you and yours have been sick. I was actually wondering where you had been. Now I know.

Thank you for the shout out! You know I think you are pretty fabulous too. I have to say that lately I can't go to the bathroom without thinking about the TP debate you and your husband had; it cracks me up.

I'm sorry you've been sick! I wouldn't even know if I had the swine flu or not either. I heard the symptoms are like other flu symptoms. That is so crazy!
I'm glad I don't have to have the job those ladies do either.

I am with Unknown Mami....you are thought of every time I grab the TP. I actually counted a couple of times and I am consistently between 8-10 squares :)
I do not have the H1N1 but I DO have the CP3O and R2D2. I am glad you're feeling better :)

Well, the good news is that now that you got it, you can relax. You lived through it. I can't recall any other flu that's created so much panic. To be honest, I feel panicked. But, there's nothing I can do about it. If I get it, I get it. All I can do is eat right, rest enough, and exercise...try to get myself into a good physical state in case this things decides to pay me a visit.

On another note, I like your view on being grateful. Just goes to show that all we have to do is look around and notice that we can always acknowledge the blessings that we have and take for granted.

Peace and love to you my dear sister,
Rebecca

P.S. -- and feel better soon!!!

Sick? Girl, you don't have time to be sick! Are you feeling better? Why didn't you tell me? Is there anything I can do? I feel bad for not dropping by. How are the children? Is hubby helping out around the house? Waaaaanda, get well soon. Love ya!
Oh by the way...this was a GREAT post... as always.
